Oil your scissors regularly – this maintains the proper blade tension essential for clean cutting.
Do not use your best fabric scissors to cut mixed materials (paper, cardboard, etc.), as this will quickly dull the sharpness needed for textiles.
If a nick appears on the blade, have it sharpened before it causes wear marks on the side of the blade.
Always have your scissors sharpened only by a professional.
