Tips
Use different thread colors to create special embroidery works.
Create special effects using multi-color threads.
Apply a thicker seam by using threads of the same color.
Suitable fabrics/materials:
Standard sewing threads
Embroidery threads
Multi-colored threads
Can be used for many fabrics
Slightly rounded point
Special features: Two needle eyes
First try out the desired decorative stitches on some leftover fabric using the smallest width and then gradually increase the stitch width. When using the Double Eye Needle, the effective stitch width is limited on many sewing machines. It depends on the features on the sewing machine in question. If the selected stitch width is too large, the thread is no longer held properly in the upper eye and skipped stitches may occur. In this case, select a smaller stitch width.
Be brave and start experimenting: The possibilities are endless and you can achieve some really interesting results!
SCHMETZ tip:
Skipped stitches caused when the stitch width is too large can also be transformed into something positive: Use the Double Eye Needle to tack. To do this, use just one upper thread, which you thread into the upper needle eye. Set up a single zigzag stitch with the maximum stitch width and stitch length. Sew without locking the seam. This approach leaves out the stitches on one side; a stitch is then only formed upon penetration on the other side, thus creating a straight stitch seam with extra-long stitches that are easy to break apart.
