The flat-head pin is suitable in length for use with medium-sized beads, with a recommended maximum bead size of 22 mm. Pass the headpin through the bead, trim it to size, and create a loop on the other end. Making a loop typically takes an average of 6–8 mm of the wire. Use standard side cutters to shorten the pin and round-nose pliers to form the loops.
