V.1 is faced to the edge and may be worn with the point up, with the point pushed in and the lower edge turned back forming a brim, showing contrasting facing, or with point turned down and held in place with a pin. V.2 is a cloche type with outside tucks, and lower edge may be turned back to form a brim. V.3 pillbox type is lined and may be timed with a veil and self-covered button or have self-fabric tab.
